Thrifting: Forever 21 red dress

This was an item procured a few days ago:

Dress is from Goodwill in Portland, near 82nd street. Red satiny finish with zippers, from Forever 21. (Note: I’m not sure how to feel about Forever 21 anymore, both with their labor disputes, and also their recent improvement in quality.)

All I know that I love zippers a lot. I can already imagine a jacket or two that I’m going to wear with it, but am unsure about the shoes! The dress is a little bit big as it’s a M, but I have a couple of layering ideas to fix that problem! It might also be time to bust out MAC’s Russian Red or Ruby Woo, neither of which I’ve worn for awhile.

Love and light, J.

Los Angeles 2010: Part Two, Electric Boogaloo

In pictures.

Those are my old Coach sunglasses dueling with my “new” MNG sunglasses that I got at the Goodwill on Colorado Blvd. in Glendale for $3.99. It was way too sunny in L.A. No, I’m not actually complaining about it!!

It’s Zankou Chicken vs. Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles. I only got to eat at Zankou during this trip, however.

The last picture is a picture that I couldn’t have imagined ever happening. It’s me and my dad. We reconnected during this trip and hadn’t seen each other since 1995. Oh the times, they are a changin’.

I’m sad that I didn’t get to see everyone that I would have liked to, but L.A. is not Switzerland and it’s just a state or two away from Portland or Seattle and I plan on visiting again very soon. I’d missed both rains, coming and going.

Love and light, J.
