I’m sitting here, feeling full from a wonderful lunch at the Lunchbox Laboratory and am contemplating more shopping for the holidaze.

There are a few holiday-type events going on at the moment that might require you to show up with gifts. I’d like to address them with 2 handy suggestions. Ha, I kill me.

Chances are, those pesky humans that you will be gifting have at least one of them, those hand things. Perhaps two. The following two items are perfect for almost everyone on your list, well at least one out of two, regardless of gender or intellectual persuasion.

L’occitane’s Shea Butter hand cream is absolutely amazing and in my humble opinion, is the best hand cream that I’ve had the pleasure of using. Thanks so much to Monique for introducing me to this lovely product, many moons ago. I’ve tried a ton of different hand creams before and since then, but I always come back to my faithful L’occitane. In addition to the regular non-scented hand cream, there are several different scented ones. I like the Lavender scented one as the lavender isn’t too sweet and artificial smelling. Glade air freshener, anyone? BLECH.

From our friends at Wikipedia:

Shea butter can be found in many high end moisturizing personal care products. Shea butter extract is known for its skin softening effect, it is also used in hair conditioners to add and maintain moisture in dry brittle hair revitalizing; in addition to retaining softness and preventing breakage. With regular use Shea Butter evens skin tone and returns skin to a natural luster, melting at body temperature, it absorbs quickly and completely into the skin without leaving a noticeable oily residue. Shea Butter penetrates deep into the skin to rehydrate and promote cell growth.

My poor hands have felt the wrath of Mother Nature and I’m acting accordingly. In addition to the big giant saver size, there are 1oz. travel versions that are good for keeping in each purse and in the car.

Now that you’re going to protect your hands and those of your loved ones and frienemies, you’ll need a way to protect them once they are all pretty and soft. The iPhone revolution (and many more touch devices) cannot be used with traditional gloves. Boooo-hoooooo. How many times have you had to text in the freezing cold only to have the intense debate with yourself of whether to wait until you’re indoors? Well, fret no longer, since I’ve found a solution.

Apologies in advance for this suggestion, as the vendor seems to be SOLD OUT. Rats!

Dots Gloves are equipped with small touchscreen-sensitive dots on your choice of one to three fingers! The gloves allow you to control your device without having to sacrifice warmth and sanity. Brilliant.

There are three types of gloves and again, each are sold out. Booo. The company seems to be garnering a lot of press for their wonderful invention and I’m going to get my hands on a pair as soon as possible! Here’s a pic of one of the models.

home-peacock2I’m trying to stay dry with the wet and cold of the Pacific Northwest. Strange how dark it gets before 3pm. Ah well, there’s always snuggling and cuddling.
